Escher Revisits The Natural History Museum

Clearly I have too much time on my hands at the moment! This image is the result of post-processing a photo of the entrance to the Natural History Museum to try to make it like an Escher drawing. Not bad for a couple of hours work, I think.. imagine what Escher could do with today's computers, would have been amazing.

Some quick updates: China is coming up soon, only 10 days to go! Still have to buy a suitcase - the tour company just threw me by telling me I'll actually need two bags because I can't take everything with me up into the mountains. Luckily I haven't splashed out yet. I failed my driving test - apparently I can't reverse around corners which is nice. So, I'll be re-taking it in May some time. It wasn't disastrous, all things considered, so I'm more hopeful about the next attempt.

Time goes so quickly! I've been out of work for nearly two weeks already but it doesn't feel like it. I've done 6 days of intensive driving training and have my test tomorrow (after another 4 hours driving) which is very scary - I'm getting more confident though, hopefully won't fail it abysmally. Driving for 5 hours per day every day is extremely tiring though. I wonder if a day or two break in the middle might have helped.

I haven't had a chance to think about China very much - I now have all the camera kit I wanted (apart from a couple of little things which are still on order) - I'll have to think a bit more about that next week when I have more time.

The first time I've seen a total lunar eclipse. It's quite rare that they occur at a reasonable time in the evening, and of course on Saturday there was a clear sky to make this easy to see.

Flickr is full of these images now - mine looks inferior compared to some efforts! Still, this one is mine.
